Aliyu woos defeated APC senatorial candidate to PDP

Aliyu woos defeated APC senatorial candidate to PDP

Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu on Wednesday admonished the defeated All Progressives Congress candidate in the recent senatorial by-election for Niger East, Mr. David Umoru, to return to the Peoples Democratic Party if he desired to actualise his political dreams.
“David Umoru should return to PDP; that is where he started, that is where his success lies.”
Aliyu made this known in Minna when he received a delegation of the PDP from Niger East Senatorial district and the presentation of the senator- elect for the zone, Dr Shem Zagbayi,  at the Government House.
He said Umoru, who lost the governorship elections in 2007 and 2011, would be in a position to serve the people of the state better if he teamed up with the PDP, boasting that the party would always win election in this state.
Aliyu, however, noted that it was tough for the PDP to win the senatorial by-election despite, according to him, the party meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people through the delivery of dividends of democracy to all wards and local governments in the state.
The governor said, “Some did it for selfish reasons; some as a revenge most importantly; some out of greed; some did not pay party agents the required fees.
.
“I urge you all to go back to all our polling units, to go back to all our wards to explain and relate to our people; we need to reinvigorate our party. There is no village where we have not done something; we must relate well with our people.
“There must always be a symbiotic relationship between elected and appointed members of the party. Without the party we (elected representatives) cannot be where we are to today.”

Lagos APC tackles anti-imposition campaigners

Lagos APC tackles anti-imposition campaigners

LAGOS State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed out at anti-imposition campaigners within its fold, expressing disappointment on their latest attitude.
This is as Governor Babatunde Fashola warned party faithful across the state against being deceived by the opposition, whom he said had nothing to offer, but mere empty promises.
The state chairman of the party, Henry Ajomale, gave the condemnation on Sunday in Poka, Eredo Local Council Development Area, Epe, at an empowerment programme organised by a member of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Segun Olulade.
He, however, counselled the party faithful to come out and participate in processes that would ensure that quality people were elected at the primaries, to stand election on the APC platform.
